Although I see what you're saying, I still disagree. I still see them as noble trying to help others. Let me put it this way, in what way does Infinite Tsukiyomi bring back Rin or Izuna? It doesn't. In what way does it help them satisfy pain? It doesn't.

What they're doing isn't for themselves, but for OTHERS. They're trying to spare future generations from losing children, dying, fighting, and leading miserable lives. Madara could've just as easily died and withered away after the Hashirama fight and his pain would've been gone. But why didn't he? Why did he fight to still control the fate of mankind? Because he cared about sparing others similar pain. Same with Obito.

Infinite Tsukyomi would actually help bring Rin back in the sense that if Obito chose to be engulfed by the tree (once IT activated) he would go into his own little dream world.

However, I do agree that his actions weren't only for bringing Rin back.

@ EddyPita.

He also says it's because of other reasons as well, again. :p

I fail to see how obito is a villian. He was more of a protagonist that wanted to become the villian but fails. I get it he is the naruto of his time and bla, bla we get it. Problem was it so repetitive it wasn't even funny. Obito is the john cena heck even naruto is a john cena fan, constantly saying the same thing over and over and the way it was handled was stupid, this whole fake world is just dumb.

There was no epic ness at all. Nagato, Itachi, Orochimaru, Madara they all had that badass vibe, reason doing so made more sense, murdered, used, hatred, etc. they had good chemistry, Obito was bland, he was boring and Kaguya even worst. My point is we went from badass villians to lame ones in the final arc, sure Madara had his moments but it wasn't enough. Kishi really dropped the ball in the final arc.

It's as if he used infinite tsukoymi just so everyone except neji as an excuse why everyone is alive. There was almost zero threat from Obito even Madara was slacking off at time, don't start with Kaguya. I just think some of yous are too forgiving in Naruto final arc yes it had a few good stuff but majority sucked compared to previous arcs. I respect your opinion but just wanted to share mine.

I actually would say that Obito has a cool vibe. Especially with his mask on. However, his character doesn't rely as much on that cool vibe as the other characters you mention do, although I think that Itachi and Orochimaru have great qualities all around. What makes Obito's character so great is that he's someone that fans and the other characters in the series can relate to in a sense. He also has a lot of character development.

Madara is Naruto's coolest Villain in my opinion. Everytime I see Madara on the page or in a scene in the anime, I feel like he's a knife at the ready looking to cut anything with pin-point precision, whether he uses Ninjutsu or his words to mindfuck the opponent.

Obito was cooler when he was impersonating Madra but even after the reveal I still found him very appealing, I think EddyPita is right about Obito being a Protagonist that failed to be the Villain he was aspiring to be, but Kishimoto absolutely handled his character very very well Obito is one of Naruto's most compelling characters possible the most compelling after Naruto due to him being the prototype.

But I need to stress, I think Obito's and Madara's reasons for the Infinite Tsukiyomi became selfish despite the tragedy they experienced that led them to their doomed path, these two characters literally gave up on the whole world and decided nobody was worthy of controlling their own destinies and having their own experiences, Obito and Madara where like some sort of Judo-Christian religion taken to a massive extreme in that sense.

To any layman that saw those two the word douchebags would be probably be used to describe them.

I wouldn't say Madara reasoning was selfish he wanted peace for everyone and not just because Izuna died which is one of the reasons he help form the village. but Izuna's death and B. zetsu is what triggered everything. But at the same time forcefully taking everyone in the (IT) does make him selfish because he didn't take in into consideration if others want to be apart of his plan. On the other hand Obito says that he had other reasoning for the (IT) but we don't know what they are, we only know that rin was one them so I can see Obito being selfish for bringing one girl back as opposed to Madara.

Ladies and Gentlefolk it has been a year since the end of Naruto let us all raise our glasses and BELIEVE IT!
