Note: Updates and clarifications are posted in pink.
Welcome to Bleach Asylum! We’re glad to have you here.
As a large and varied community of manga and anime fans, we do have some guidelines that everyone must follow in all areas of the site, including message boards, private messages, and visitor messages. Please note that if you do not follow these rules at all times, you risk being warned or even banned from the site.
...
Offenses which will result in an immediate ban
1. Discrimination and hate speech: Bleach Asylum will not tolerate any content which attacks others because of race, nationality, gender, sexual preference, or religious beliefs. (An example of hate speech is "All [members of group X] should just die," or "I've never met an intelligent [member of group Y].")
2. Advertising, spamming, and trolling are not allowed. This includes using the main site, forum, e-mail, visitor messages, blog comments, picture comments, and private message systems to spam other members. No linking to any other forum / commercial product / service is allowed without approval from the Administrator. This includes such sites as adfly and other sites which pay for clicks.
3. Posting real-life “adult” material or links to such material.
4. Creating multiple accounts: Bleach Asylum allows one account per person, per IP number. The duplicate accounts will be banned. If you continue to create duplicate accounts, your original account may also be permanently banned.
...
Forum-wide rules and guidelines
1. Treat others with courtesy and respect. Just use common sense and be nice to each other. We are not going to restrict swearing, but please use it sparingly if at all. Content meant to hurt, insult, attack, or ridicule other members is not allowed.
2. Many members share their pictures in the social area. Do not repost another member’s picture without that member’s express permission.
2b. Please do not post or request personal information on the site. This includes real names, street addresses, the name of your school or business, or passwords. Be cautious, since the content of discussion areas can be viewed publicly. If you receive a message which makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please notify forum staff immediately.
3.[/B] While debating and discussion are fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, or inflammatory posts. This also includes bashing forum staff.
4. Extended debating, which a Moderator will decide when it is enough, should be moved to the debate section. Do not continue to debate by PM’s or VM’s.
5. Keep threads on topic.
6. When using tags, please use sensible words. It is a search function, not a spam/joke function.
7. This is a discussion forum, so we ask you to contribute as much as possible. Please do not post one-liners, meaningless messages or posts, messages which consist only of a picture or emoticon, or the like.
8. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed. Edit your last post when needed. Do not post just to "bump" a thread up. We also discourage "necro-posting," which is posting in a thread which has been inactive for at least three months.
9. Threads close at 1000 posts. Mods will lock a thread that reaches this limit. If the thread is continued, it must have the next version number.
10. Deal with disputes privately. If you don’t like something that another member or a mod is doing, do not confront them publicly. If you are unable to resolve the issue between yourselves via private messages, please ask another moderator or admin for assistance. There should be no bickering, personal attacks, or publicly posting any private message sent to you.
11. No name changes – choose wisely.
No account closures - simply stop visiting the site if you no longer enjoy coming here.
12. Cooperate with moderators and administrators. They are here to help. If you have an issue with a mod, please approach either that person or an admin privately and explain the situation. Lambasting or otherwise being rude or aggressive toward forum staff is not acceptable. You should not repost any warning PM sent to you from a mod or admin.
13. If a moderator edits offensive, off-topic, or rude content from your post, do NOT put the edited material back in. Otherwise, the entire post will be deleted. If your post is deleted because it doesn't follow the rules, you should not repost the deleted material.
14. Sharing links to illegal copyrighted material, such as pirated software or music, or any other intellectual property violations, is not allowed. This includes posting links to questionable download sites.
15. Messages in discussion areas must be posted in English. Exceptions are translations or the foreign-language threads in the discussion areas. You may also use a foreign language in VM's or PM's. In discussion areas, please do your best even if English is not your native language.
16. Give credit where credit is due. If you post a fanart, fanfic, or other art from another site, please credit the artist.
17. Please do not post hardcore hentai, yuri, or yaoi images anywhere other than the respective fan clubs. Such images should be enclosed in spoiler tags, and a warning should be posted.
18. No graphic sexual discussions. This is not an adult themed website, so discussions of this type should almost never happen. Use innuendos if needed. If you think a message or image is borderline, use spoiler tags with a warning. Even then, if it seems inappropriate for the thread/forums, it may be removed.
19. Follow thread rules. Threads that have their own rules in place must be followed. Refusal to do so could result in loss of participation rights or even a temp ban if severe enough. In threads that ask members to post only once per day, forum staff reserve the right to delete any post after the first one.
20. No promoting Youtube videos in posts. Advertising of any Youtube video is now restricted to signatures. This applies to videos being posted just for others to view them. Specific threads that use mainly videos are exceptions to the rule.
21. No harsh character/pairing bashing in posts/sig’s/av’s. You may discuss characters' flaws, but please be sensible and constructive.
Example: Ichigo sucks, I’m sick to hell of his lame ass plot kai abilities. (NO)
I’m getting tired of Ichigo’s constant ability to win fights even though he hasn’t trained or anything since before the Hueco Mundo arc. (OK)

23. If you're not sure whether something is permissible on BA, please take time to ask a moderator or administrator first. It's always better to err on the side of caution.
24. Although the staff of Bleach Asylum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither Bleach Asylum nor its staff will be held responsible for the content of any message posted by its members.
25. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
26. Any disputes with the staff of Bleach Asylum are to be handled in private through the Private Message System. If you wish to escalate any issue with staff, please contact the Admins.
27. While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure this website is not disrupted or abused in any way.
28. We reserve the right to update and modify these rules as the needs of the community dictate to ensure the smooth operation of this community.
29. These rules are not up for debate. Forum staff will not argue with members about the legitimacy of any rule, either publicly or privately.
These rules may be updated or revised at any time.
If you have any questions about these rules, please contact an administrator.
