What could it be that "special project that transcends manga and animation"?

My guess is that it could be a gaming project. Some are saying it could be a movie, but that's unlikely. I personally would prefer a game over a movie provided the genre of the game corresponds to my taste.

But back to reality, this new BLEACH 20th is that site project itself that's likely been referenced in that translation.

Some are going too far to say it could be anime remake. I think the original can never be replaced. The remake or reboot isn't necessary especially the world is heading into generated AI where in future, the people would have the power to reimagine.

So what do you all think? What would you want it to be? List your fantasies because it's a good time to discuss.

The special link would contain the related news of BLEACH 20th different projects...

...like BLEACH The Locus of Brave event:

Unpopular opinion: I wish TYBW anime artstyle was similar to that key visual characters artstyle above which resembles cardboard. I am not saying the current artstyle is not good, but I kind of imagine characters animated movements in that style would have been a deviant choice. Too much simplistic but beautiful to look as if it was the actual manga in motion.

Maybe it is simply this: Bleach will continue past what has been presented in manga form. Theoretically, Bleach could be endless especially in anime. There is more than enough potential for this.

I think it’s going to be a remake of the anime to be exclusive to the manga .. so maybe a reboot.. unsure of what the other announcement is about

I think it would be marketing for merchandise just like collaborations and they have created a unified portal for 20th so that things are organized. For example, BLEACH The Locus of Brave and BLEACH x VISA. With the passing time, more collaborations might come.

I don't believe it would be a reboot. The new discs that they are trying to trim closer to manga, they would not have done that had there been a reboot discussion. Even for TYBW, we only got limited episode space for the story to capture in 52 episodes.

My own dream fantasy is a BLEACH fighting game made by either Capcom or Namco. There could be part 2 of live action movie. That's a real possibility. Animation movie would require studio time allocation that it might not be possible because original BLEACH by Pierrot had a huge team and that was feasible. Because it's anniversary of the animation itself, I hope it's something related to animation. Perhaps a limited OVA or something like that.

It would be easy to say that we'll see, because at least some part of the fun lies within the speculations and theories.

Reading your posts, it seems that it could be a new, bigger game. It could also be a bunch of different collaborations with other products/brands etc.

Since the wording suggests that Bleach would live beyond the manga and the anime, at this moment, I don't think the news will be related to the already aired anime (i.e. ther'll be no reboot and similar).

The 20th anniversary of the anime is quite a large milestone, so logically speaking, Kubo and the studio should be preparing something special.

I agree with you, Polgarena, 20 years of Bleach is a very special anniversary. Of course I don't know but I think another game, another art book is not an adequate reflection of it. It should be something really unique and special.

I don't see any value in a reboot, starting from the beginning. Fillers are a controversial topic but especially nowadays, some fillers became part of the official Bleach history. And some Fillers are actually based on Tite Kubo's work. Better to leave it alone. Or maybe, use some key scenes in a flashback as it happened in the beginning of the Hell Verse movie. I enjoyed that.

I still hope that I will be right, that Bleach will continue to move forward - within the current story but also beyond.

I feel the same even though I know that reboots are becoming a more frequent occurrence. The anime of Bleach may have began 20 years ago, but its original run (before the TYBW continuation) ended only 12 years ago. Of course, to me it feels like it's been only 12 years and maybe other people don't share that opinion.

...
The first episode of the TV anime "Bleach" began airing on October 5, 2004.And after 20 years, many famous scenes that have pierced the souls of fans have been gathered in the latest anime video! It was created with the concept of "the appearance of Ichigo Kurosaki" from the perspective of Rukia and other characters, who led Ichigo to become the acting Shinigami.A special PV that condenses Ichigo's steps leading to the "Thousand-Year Blood War"!

That's nice; excellently animated as well. I find it a bit funny that the credits ended up being longer than the special video/animation.
